Hi all
Here we are with a lot of new songs.
Today we present two bands from the netlabel “Làstima”
The first band is Madcab.
Madcab started playing in 2001 on the outskirts of Lisbon. For five years they played lots of shows, walked by forbidden streets and, in the middle of everything else, they created their own identity. Just after this path, which allowed the band to become more mature, they decided it was time to write an album.
Keeping Wounds Open, released in March 2007, confirms not only the band’s rock spirit but also a more detailed and coherent musical identity.
Currently in the rotation: Beggars / From Outside of Myself / Sweet Bone Chill
The second band is called Hanging By A Name.
Hanging By A Name is first and foremost the end result from the collaboration of three musicians that make up the band.
Duarte Feliciano, João Santiago and Adílio Sousa are a trio by choice, not by accident. Neither should it be considered an accident the fact that their music mirrors some of the environments and behaviors that Coimbra, a Portuguese ever growing college town where they come from, has exposed them to. Their approach towards music is unostentatious, almost pragmatic and caustic, with no reverence for classification or genres and without any kind of reservation on borrowing musical languages from a number of them in order to find the best way to convey an idea, an emotion.
Urban by nature, their music reveals itself through landscapes created by beautifully open eerie guitar sounds, that quickly alternate into explosions of odd time signature drum patterns, always supported by bass lines both intricate and powerful, in an all out effort to capture in music all nuances of the intense life stories depicted by their lyrics.
Theirs is a language of small pieces of cinematographic exposure to music, film, literature, photography that aggregates into something new and full of individuality. A complex alternative power rock picture that aims to carve it’s own place in the music universe.
Currently in the rotation: The Cogwheel / The Noose
All the songs are released under a creative commons license.

.

London Sofa A young band with a rich experience : its 5 members were part of the foremost pop-rock bands of the Lorraine (North-East of France) region (more than 500 concerts, gigs with Divine Comedy, Doves, Big Soul, Wedding Present, Nada Surf, etc.).
At the beginning of 2006, they decided to meet and to share their musical ideas. Quickly, the group creates new original stuff, drawing their inspiration from rock and typical brit pop.
Guillaume, Christophe, Mickey, Matthieu and Phil add their experiences to embellish their melodies: three guitars, 2 or 3 vocals, samples

New month. New songs added.
Today’s
Scott Andrew / Good thing / Green / Have we learned
More about the artist:

Ah, the “artist bio.” Let’s not kid ourselves: this is where I get to tell you how wicked awesome I am, preferably in third person so it looks like I can afford to hire a publicist to write my bios for me. Let’s get started!
Okay. Here’s the part where I try to impress you by spinning some mundane childhood fact into an indication of prodigy. You know, “Scott was born a genius and already writing hit songs before he could eat solid food” and that sort of thing.
Here’s the part where I say that my folk-tinged acoustic pop “defies convention,” refuses to be classified and is, like, so totally and utterly unique, even though listeners easily compare me to artists like Guster, Shawn Mullins and Matt Nathanson.
And here’s the part where I tell you about the success of my latest record, which I recorded in my basement on a shoestring budget just like every other income-challenged singer-songwriter. Here’s a vague mention of some past songwriting awards or accolades, none of which hold much relevance today. Yay me!
Of course, no bio is complete without a long, boring list of every venue I’ve ever played, every radio station that has ever played my songs, and every opening slot I was lucky enough to land. Just imagine that list right here.
And here’s where I try to sell you an image of indie-cool hipster credibility, even though I harbor an affinity for the works of Phil Collins, and secretly wish I were Sting.
I think that about covers it.
All the songs are released under a Creative Commons nc-by-sa 2.5 license.

Today’s:
# GPK / Black Paint
#Reverend Big O / Hear You Out / Just Next To You / Tonight / Words Like Clouds
#YAME / Factory Of New Consent / I Was A Punk / Open Space
The artists are all from the label GO,jukebox!

More about the artists:
GPK (Garmisch Partenkirchen)
GPK is one of those things that just seems to happen when you try to convert feverish dreams into something quite beautiful but since you don´t really remember exactly how the dream started or what it sounded like or who was in it you stumble and falter and end up with something resembling the aspirin more than the fever. GPK is an electronica-act suffering from a power shortage. They like their music as they like their food. They´re a trick of the mind, even though they never mean to confuse anyone other than themselves. GPK is an everlasting conflict between five people who are deeply scared of conflicts. They live in Malmö, Sweden. GPK are nice people. Don´t hold it against them.
Reverend Big O
Why should you devote your time to an indie rock band on beta-blockers? We really don’t know. But if you confess to being into the late 80’s/early 90’s shoegazer division this is the nutrient foundation upon which you live.
Welcome to reverberation, cascades of intertwining guitars and breathy vocals. Transcend your daylife: Reverend Big O is calling you from pale foggy fields and dizzy slow motion car lights over rainy streets(?!).
All those dreamy pictures drawn up by an early My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive awoken again. This is why shoegazer sometimes leans against the pretentious - you just have to care!
Reverend Big O - formerly known as “Swedens slowest” - still keeps sadness and melancholy in focus. The tempo has certainly added on some bpm’s but the fragile and delicate melodies that are significant for the band remain.
YAME (You are My Everything)
You are My Everything first started out as a side project to Reverend Big O. Singer Nicklas Nilsson and guitarist Jörgen Dahlqvist wanted to do music that were a little more up-tempo and rock compared with the slow and emotional music they played with the reverends. But the idea with You are my everything grew and soon some ten-fifteen songs were recorded.
You are My Everything is indie rock at its best. Pumping bass, edgy rock guitars that colour the verses with quirky sounds and then, the chorus appears with noise and distortion. You are my Everything makes pop music with a rock attitude.
